This is our go-to method for functional soap bars.  No fancy swirls, just great soap.  Our popular charcoal soap is made this way.  Ready in a few days but the same curing time at 4 to 6 weeks for the best bars.  The main concept of hot process soap is that you are actively cooking the soap (instead of letting it saponify on its own which you do with cold process)
Includes a take-home easy kids project to use the cooked soap paste into soap play dough.

1.5 to 2 hours duration.
*This is a participatory class where we group 3 or 4 persons together due to the need of crock pots*
Learn the secrets techniques of hot process soap.  No previous experience required. "The beauty of simplicity and practicality is what keeps me coming back to this technique again and again"  Maureen Smith
Practice your carving skills with this soap.

All supplies are included at no additional cost. If one chooses to make more than 1 batch, each add'l batch is $5.00 per batch and only after each participant has completed their recipe. For further clarification, kindly contact us

To make hot process soap, you basically follow all the steps of cold process soap making except add one element: heat

The hot process method has two main benefits:

  1. Making homemade soap using this method is a great way to somewhat relive the days of old. Out of the four main methods of soap making this technique is most similar to the way soap was made during the colonial era.
  2. The final product has a more chunky look to it versus cold process soap and this is due to the thickness of your soap batter when put into your mold. Still a wonderful natural soap! Fancy tops and many designed soap methods are done with CP soap.

Note that you will be working in groups of 3 or 4 due to the use of crock pots. The scent will be decided by the group. Additives or color will not be an option in this class.

Prerequisite: You must be 18 years old to enroll or participate in this class.  Please wear or bring a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and closed toe shoes to class. Latex or nitrile gloves will be supplied the day of the class. Bring your own safety goggles to the class.
