Candle dye solid
Candle dye solid
These Solid Dye Color Blocks are extremely easy to use and work in all waxes. They make varying colors and shades depending on the type of wax used and the ratio of the color in the wax. There are no spills and results are easy to reproduce. They can be mixed and matched, however the colors will look different in different types of waxes. The colors do change with different dye concentration. A good starting rate is 1 block of color in 5 pounds of wax and you can use less or more from there. If you'd like a darker color, a little bit of black wax coloring block works wonders.
Caution:
All dyes fade over a period of time. Light color shades appear to fade faster than strong dark color shades. Sometimes light colors fade in only a few hours in the sun. You can use a UV Inhibitor to help decrease the possibility of colors fading. Using more color will help with the light stability. Excessive heat can oxidize the wax color chips turning it yellow. This has a deteriorating effect on the dyes. It is recommended that solid dyes be used at temperatures under 200 degrees to ensure that the dyes do not scorch.
